Most foods contain a variety of nutrients, but they are usually classed into food groups according to the major ingredient they contain. The four main food groups are included in the Food Pyramid. Use the Food Pyramid to guide you in your daily food choices.
How to use the Food Pyramid
The Food Pyramid helps us to choose a variety of foods in the correct quantities to make sure that we get all the goodness we need from our food. Foods that contain similar nourishment are grouped together and can be interchanged. This allows you flexibility of choice, and provides the variety you need for good health!
